The Awake NY collab is fire. The racer blue accents pop perfectly against the black leather. The "NY" on the right heel is a nice touch. Took Ls on SNKRS but grabbed a pair on resale—worth every penny.
I actually wear these, not just keep them in a box. Leather quality is premium, and the visible Air cushioning is comfortable for all-day wear. The clear lace locks are a cool detail.
Managed to cop these on the drop. The racer blue accents are even better in person. Fit is true to size. Only complaint is the clear soles pick up dirt fast.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good-looking shoe. The translucent outsole and silver tongue are classic AJ5. But for the resale price? Hard pass. Retail or nothing.
This is my first Awake NY collab and it won't be my last. The packaging alone is worth the hype. The jagged midsole and mesh panels give it that retro feel with a modern twist.
